Critical error alerting repaired and test VPS resources retired
SCComp now emails operators about core automation failures, while obsolete test VPS instances, network rules, subscriptions, and address allocations have been safely retired.
Significant failures now generate operator email
SCComp repaired the production operator-alert scanner and expanded it to cover failed automatic VPS provisioning, failed Proxmox management actions, OPNsense network reconciliation errors, and failed Stripe webhook processing. Alerts use stable deduplication keys so one terminal failure does not generate repeated mail every polling cycle.
A controlled SMTP test completed successfully to the configured operator recipient. The repaired worker also delivered a real critical event discovered from historical provisioning state, proving database discovery, queueing, and email delivery together.
Obsolete automation tests removed
VMs 902 and 903 belonged to the retired internal automation-test listing. Their database bindings, Proxmox names, SCComp order tags, customer tags, and Stripe test-mode subscriptions were verified before cleanup. OPNsense rules for the mapped test device were removed first, after which both VMs and their disks were purged from Proxmox.
Addresses returned to inventory
• Private IPv4 addresses 10.50.0.11 through 10.50.0.14 are available again.
• Public IPv4 address 198.44.26.197 is available again.
• Test console sessions, credentials, management bindings, orders, jobs, and subscriptions were retired.
The active automatically provisioned services on VMs 904 and 905 were preserved. Protected customer VM 915 was not modified.
Validation
The alert worker completed a clean discovery pass, all 41 application tests passed, and live Proxmox inventory confirms that 902 and 903 are absent while 904, 905, and 915 remain present.
Alerts follow administrator accounts
Error recipients are no longer maintained as a static server email list. At delivery time, SCComp resolves every verified administrator account and sends the alert to its current account email address. Adding or removing an administrator, or updating an administrator account email, therefore updates future error delivery automatically.
